We need to do some heavy editing to the galactic map again. This time, however, it needs to be pre-PS map. No point in doin' post-PS maps since that hasn't really happened yet.

I just noticed this map places the Hephaestus Republic in the Alpha Quadrant, whereas the articles here place it in Beta. what's up with that?

New map
There has to be some changes to the galaxy map. First of all, it's better if each race's territories get shrunk. Right now they're just far too huge. There's no way that the Gigerdians could've occupied so much territory in just 250 years. Owning 1/4 of the galaxy is just waaaayyy too much. Even if they reproduce like rabbits. An easy solution is just to decrease the territories, besides it allows for more neutral space which is something we're kinda lacking too. There are some other issues too like the Hemmoian and GA space being far too close to each other. First contact happened like 10 years ago or so and they're already hugging each other. And I think the image of the galaxy has changed now too.
This next map should also be pre-PS map. I'll do a suggestion once I get home, and I'll use the newest map available on NASA's site as it should be up-to-date.

timescales
10 years ago? I think your timescales are way off base here. It's better to add more years into the timeline to allow things to happen than trying to fit them into some arbitrarily short period of time.. I've already done this with the Hemmoian timeline which gives much longer time periods between the first contact, the 1st B.W., the PS Era etc. depending on the definition of the "Hemmoian year". I'll make suggestions once I get home and find a computer, goddamn these cellphone keyboards....
