Gamma rays are the most energetic form of energy, with the shortest wavelength. Usually, they are thought of as any photons having energies greater than about 100 keV. Gamma rays often originate from black holes or quasars. Gamma rays can also be used in medical scanning as nuclear imaging allows for easy imaging of the metabolic system of various life-forms.
