Gigerdian security personnel use these shields during combat situations, such as boarding action. These particular shields for individual personnel are also used by the various Human security organizations.
Modern Encounter Suits may also employ a type of personal shielding.
Additional dampener modules may be used to boost a personal shield's strength.
