Plasma Torpedoes are a general classification of energy torpedoes. A ship equipped with plasma torpedoes can launch a withering attack that can overwhelm an opponent, especially at close range.
Some are seeking projectiles with anti-matter cores, while others are simple spheres of burning plasma, which is matter on the verge of transforming into energy. These spheres are held in a cohesive form by a magnetic field and their damage spreads out over several systems at once, but they tend to lose their effectiveness after only a few minutes of travel.
