47 Tucanae (also known as NGC 104) is a globular cluster located in the Milky Way halo. The sphere of ancient stars has a radius of 60 light years and is noted for having a very bright and dense core.

Spectral class: A7
Radial velocity: 19 km/sec

A typical globular cluster, 47 Tucanae contains several hundred thousand stars. It is also a bright gamma ray source.
