Falsespace Veil Generator

The Falsespace Veil forces a starship to rapidly plunge through several dimensions, entering an unknown layer beyond the Portal Dimension, before re-emerging in realspace at a great velocity.

A common type of Bacterian FTL drive, a Falsespace Veil Generator is an energy-intensive method of interdimensional travel that allows Bacterian vessels to enter deep into the darkest depths of multidimensional space, known as Falsespace, where laws of physics break down into sub-quantum insanity. The generators have been described as "punching a hole in the space-time continuum" and a "brute force" method of interdimensional travel, the exact method of which is only known to the Bacterians.

A side effect of the generator technology eliminates the spacecraft's inertia, allowing travel at extreme speeds and with extreme acceleration, whilst also giving even larger craft an agility and a strange ignorance of gravity that few other ships can match.

For ultra-long range travel between galaxies and other long distances, the Bacterians have typically used another FTL travel method, the wormhole/singularity based BlackHole Dimensional PropSys.
