Inter-Planetary Security Forces
The Inter-Planetary Security Forces (IPSF) is the internal security organization of the Hemmoian Federation. It deals with supervision of federal regulations, law enforcement, and in co-operation with the IHSF, star system and border patrol. The IPSF also works closely with local colonial security forces and provides assistance when necessary.
Like other federal organizations, the IPSF has jurisdiction in all member states of the Hemmoian Federation regardless of their level of autonomy. Many member states maintain their own local IPSF branches.
The IPSF is often cited as being one of the three military branches of the Hemmoian Federation, but this is not entirely accurate as the organization fulfills a wide range of non-military roles.
Origin
The IPSF is closely based on the organizational structure of the former Independent Hypersentience Inter-Planetary Security Forces (IHIPSF), formed at the time of the foundation of the Independent Hypersentiences government. When the Hemmoian Federation was later founded, the IHIPSF organization was restructured to combine assets with special police units such as the Orc Patrol from the former United Orcs into a single agency. The "Independent Hypersentience" title was dropped from the name of the organization to reflect this.
By comparison, the Independent Hypersentience Starfleet (IHSF) retained the "IH" in their title as the decision was made not to combine it with the United Orcs Starfleet (UOSF), which to this date remains an independent organization under the jurisdiction of the United Orcish Empire.
