Kyle Gigerdi is the former emperor of the Gigerdi Confederation, decorated war hero and the second ambassador of the Gigerdians to the Peace Station.

The early years

Kyle Gigerdi was the son of Frex Gigerdi, a senator in the Gigerdi Federation's senate. At an early age he was drawn to adventures and thus decided to join the Gigerdi Federation's military forces in order to see the Galaxy when he had matured enough.

Also at an early age, Kyle had befriended Mad Gigerdi. Their parents had apparently been relatively close and thus Mad and Kyle had pretty much matured together. Mad followed Kyle in his plan to see the Galaxy and enlist in the Gigerdi Federation's military.

During their years in the Gigerdi Federation's Military Academy, Kyle and Mad banded together in order to pass the rigorous tests and challenges that the training there demanded of them. Kyle and Mad also graduated from the academy at the same time during the final confrontations of the H'vos War. Kyle and Mad were both assigned to separate ships, but they managed to keep in contact.

During the conflict with the H'vos, Kyle fought against an entire battlegroup of H'vos vessels with just two fighter squadrons and one aging cruiser after the ship he had been serving on was badly damaged and it's command staff were killed. Luckily however, the ship that Mad served on arrived to help the encircled cruiser soon after.

After the H'vos War, Kyle and Mad continued their commission in the GF's armed forces. After the first contact between the Hemmoians and the Gigerdians, Kyle and Mad were called back to active service, since the first contact with the two peaceful species had also opened up relations with the elusive Bacterians. A small border conflict between the Gigerdians and the Bacterians followed, and after it Kyle and Mad decided to leave active service in the armed forces. Kyle decided to pursue his dream of adventuring around the Galaxy, and once Mad heard of it too, he decided to join Kyle. Mad Gigerdi's father Ulre Gigerdi was against Mad's plans to leave the military and go on a potentially dangerous adventure with Kyle.

Adventures and Galactic Travel

Kyle and Mad bought a small freighter called the Hawk of the Galaxy and started to run odd jobs here and there in the Beta Quadrant Free Zone. During this time, they befriended a human mercenary called Den Kylek, who helped them in their various adventures.

After the Peace Station was completed, Kyle and Mad were called back to service, but on different terms.

The Peace Station project

All of the major starpowers were drawn closer after the finalization of the Peace Station Interspecies Treaty. This project gave birth to the Peace Station, a neutral station where problems between species could be solved peacefully without endless and ultimately meaningless wars.

Kyle and Mad were assigned as the new ambassadors of the Gigerdi Federation for the station. The reason for their assignment had been clear; Mad was related to the Gigerdi Federation's aging Emperor Ogaitinsha, who appointed Mad and Kyle as the ambassadors. Kyle and Mad acted as the Gigerdian ambassadors to the station for nearly two years. Kyle also befriended Kwinda Anado, a female Gigerdian lieutenant who she had initially fell in love with.

Trouble started to rise when news of Emperor Ogaitinsha's death reached the station; Mad had been selected as the new emperor due to the fact that he was related to Ogaitinsha. However, the new powers in the Gigerdi Federation had changed themselves into something that many of the older patriots in the government did not agree with - Kyle was indeed one of them.

As Mad left for the inauguration to Gigerdi Prime, Kyle heard of a group of Gigerdian government officials who wanted to secede from their former state and form a new one. Kyle started to organise support for these government officials in the Peace Station and he was shortly placed under arrest by governmental forces. In the cell he "conspired" with a group of like minded officials about the creation of a new state for the Gigerdians that would secede from the former Federation.

The creation of the Gigerdi Confederation

Kyle escaped from his holding cell in the Peace Station and hijacked a shuttle that he used to get to Gigerdi Prime. Once there, he smuggled himself to the Senate building and declared that a few colony worlds along with a small fleet would now form the new Gigerdi Confederation under his command.

Kyle escaped the Senate and on the way out he stole a large colony ship, the G.C.S. Hope. He then moved then ship into orbit and proceeded to defend the newly defected colony world of Ferrel from pursuing Gigerdi Federation vessels.

The following battle was a victory for the G-Confed's forces, however the vast majority of its fleets had to scatter into the outer-rim territories in order to avoid contact with Gigerdi Federation vessels. Despite considerable efforts, The Gigerdi Federation didn't manage to find the location of the renegade fleets at first.

Kyle returned to the Peace Station to represent the new Gigerdian political faction as the G-confed's new homeworld of Merdan was colonized.

New allies & old threats

Kyle was instrumental in negotiating new trade pacts between the Gigerdi Confederation and the various members of the Hemmoian Federation. All in all, it seemed that the Bacterians and the Hemmoians were much more positive towards the Gigerdi Confederation due to it's efforts of revitalizing relations between the three species.

It is also known, that Kyle himself authorised several arms deals with the Bacterians. However, the weapons that the Gigerdi Confederation sold to the Bacterians, called Flashpacks, proved to be ineffective against the Timocracy.

A few Gigerdi Federation colonies joined Kyle's cause during this time as well; it would seem that they were influenced to do so by their administrations friendly towards the G-confed.

The Timocracy War & new homeworld

As the hostile race known as the Timocracy invaded the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, The Gigerdi Condederation also fell pray to its' assaults. At first the Gigerdi Confederation fought a war against the Timocracy on a very limited scale due to it's still mobilizing military forces.

Shortly before the Timocracy attacked, Kyle's forces found a suitable planet for a new homeworld in the Preoria system. The remaining colonization equipment of the GCS Hope were used to construct settlements on the planet while the Gigerdian Confederation urged one and all to emigrate to the planet in hopes of a large population boom: this tactic seemed to work as millions of drifters, merchants, traders, mercenaries and common folk just looking for a safe place to stay moved to Gigerdi 2, the new control world of the Gigerdi Confederation.

As the Timocracy War escalated even more, Kyle used every bit of his influence to attract industrial resources and more population to the new homeworld: thus Gigerdi 2 started to grow to it's present size. It would also seem, that Kyle Gigerdi's son, Daniel Gigerdi, was born around these times. However, it is unknown who exactly was the mother, if she ever existed - or if Daniel was merely a product of a faceless cloning facility.

As the Timocracy War raged on, Kyle also learned of several pirate clans starting to grow bolder in their operations in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants: thus he devised a plan that eliminated 95% of the various pirate clans in the Alpha Quadrant and put the fear of god on most of the Beta Quadrant clans: the operation which reflects upon today's Alpha Quadrant's complete lack of piracy is known as the Pirate Wars.

Towards the very end of the Timocracy War, Kyle and Mad Gigerdi learned of a prison complex located near the Timocracy homeworld, while overseeing fleet movements: the camp housed Gigerdian prisoners that were to be executed very soon unless someone would save them first. Since Kyle and Mad were the only ones in the area, they decided to complete the rescue mission despite the considerable threat to their life.

During the operation all of the prisoners were rescued, however Kyle was mortally wounded in the operation and thus died on the planet while Mad Gigerdi himself managed to get away only to die shortly after.

This heroic deed is considered as the basis for the collapse of the individual Gigerdian states and the formation of the Gigerdi Alliance. After the Timocracy War, Kyle and Mad Gigerdi have been regarded as the founding fathers of the Gigerdi Alliance and national heroes of the entire Gigerdian species.
