Last Stand of Cipharg Twelve

The Last Stand of Cipharg Twelve was a desperate space battle between forces of the Hemmoian Federation and the Great Lightness that took place towards the end of the Lightness War in the Cipharg system.

The Hemmoian High Command had assumed the Lightness invasion forces would not attack the colony of Cipharg 12 with full force due to its remote location in the galactic plane. Because of this, only eight subfleets of the IHSF had been assigned to the entire starsystem.

High Command's assessment of Lightness behaviour had been wrong, however. The aggressors ambushed the defensive fleets, pouring into high orbit above Cipharg 12 from all around the HFed fleets in superior numbers. During the initial violence of their cowardly strike, the IHSF Koskelo lost its commanding officer, who was also responsible for commanding the entire protector fleet.
