NGC 6934

NGC 6934 is a 15 billion-year-old ball of hundreds of thousands of stars, known as a globular cluster.

Variable stars

A thorough search for variable stars in NGC 6934 results in a total of 51 variables. This is a surprisingly large number of variables since NGC 6934 is not an intrinsically populous cluster. NGC 6934 resembles M3 in this respect and has about one-quarter as many variables as M3 while being one-quarter as bright intrinsically.
