In the early days of the Collective, all data in the collective network went through the Operator Datastation, basically a giant cluster of computers in orbit of Aldaain. The Station ran a network called PRIMENET, connecting Aldaain and Tooled Hemmo through a subspace link.

As the Collective grew larger and computer implants became more advanced, the Operator was slowly phased out, replaced by a more decentralized system.

When the station was still active, it was attacked 23 times by terrorists and enemies of the United Orcs. Renegade Hemmoian hackers tried to break into its systems 48327 times, but only once the security was breached. A rumor used to circulate that when the rebel hacker group hacked the system, they installed a back door to the system, allowing them to override the Collective's primary data loop itself. This claim was later substantiated to some degree when the Rebellion announced its endeavors to secede from the Collective based form of life of the Hemmoian Federation and facilitated this by disabling key parts of the Collective at certain locations.
