Culture

Orceron was a world divided on a cultural level. On one side, there were the Orcs and their clan-based form of life, dedicated to leading a passionate existence based on emotions and the basic will to survive. They had great respect for their traditions and were slow to change their ways. Creating art, waging wars, eating, drinking, laughing and shouting, their ways revolved around the values of the individual.

Then there was the other side, the Hemmoians. They devoted their lives, based on reason, intelligence and efficiency, to mental self-perfection, meditation, science and study. They observed, recorded and preserved, rarely engaging in the violent conflicts of the Orcs. What was done was done for the greater good, and individual lives were often disregarded by the systems they endorsed.

This is not to say all Orcs were loud and uninterested in science and progress, or that all Hemmoians were devoid of emotion and never had any fun - These are little more than stereotypes. Still, the differences of the Orc and Hemmoian cultures were ever-present on Orceron, where the two species lived side by side.
