SDSS J1323-0021

A distant quasar that displays clear indications of spectral absorption by a cloud of hydrogen and metals between the quasar and the Milky Way Galaxy; the cloud seems to be an "invisible galaxy". Careful analysis of the spectrum reveals this galaxy is rich in zinc, while other metals such as iron appear to have condensed into vast clouds of dust grains.
