Sleeper ship

A sleeper ship, alternatively known as a slowboat, is a vessel which travels relatively slowly between distances or between two very distant locations, thus requiring the crew to go into hibernation (normally by mechanical means, see Hypersleep) in order to survive the trip instead of dying of old age. Sleeper ships are not a ship type of their own; for an example some less advanced colony ships have been sleepers.

Not many modern stellar civilizations are known for using sleeper ships anymore, but exceptions include the Braccatian Kingdom.
