Vornel 73 Holnit

A citizen of the Democratic Hemmoian Republic and an active revolutionary during the Hemmoian Civil War, Vornel 73 Holnit was known for having contacts all over the Gamma Quadrant.

In particular, xe was often seen on the planet Natas because of its unique characteristics; it was a backwater, unregulated planet, yet housed one of the Inter-Stellar Alliance's embassies with representatives from all around the Galaxy. This allowed Holnit to contact various governments on behalf of the DHR, and although xe wasn't officially acknowledged, xe was considered an "informal" member of the ambassadorial staff of the base.

Involvement in the Emissary attacks

It was Vornel 73 Holnit who unwittingly allowed the Emissary terrorist attacks to take place on Aldaain. While on Natas, he was approached by a group of mysterious aliens who identified themselves as the Orlians. They were aware of the DHR's expertise at getting through HFed security systems and expressed a wish to purchase illegal access through the Aldaain planetary shield.

Holnit was initially wary of the new aliens, but the DHR Senate was desperate to make new allies in the Galaxy and after some negotiations, a deal was reached. Access through the shield would be provided, but transport would be by a DHR ship with DHR pilots.

However, as the transport bypassed the shield on Aldaain, it was taken over by Emissary agents and a high energy explosive was detonated next to a Shield Base on the surface, weakening the shield grid temporarily. Instantly after this, an Emissary attack fleet jumped into orbits around Aldaain, unleashing incredible destruction on the planet and its orbital facilities. Simultaneously, a similar attack was performed on Gigerdi Prime.

The Emissary attack is known as one of the worst terrorist attacks on Aldaain and left large parts of the planetary surface in ruins.

After learning what had happened because of him, Holnit disappeared. Xer current status is unknown; it is possible he committed suicide.
