The 83 Leonis system is a double system of an orange-red subgiant (83 Leonis A) and an orange-red main sequence star (83 Leonis B). The two stars orbit each other at a distance of at least 515 AU and take about 32 000 years to complete one orbit. A planet orbits the B star.

Both stars are members of the HR 1614 supercluster and stellar moving group. The system is also known as Struve 1540 AB.
