AE Andromedae

AE Andromedae (AE And) is a luminous blue variable (LBV), a type of variable star. The star is one of the most luminous variables in the Andromeda Galaxy.

AE And has prominent Fe II lines in its emission spectrum. It is an irregular variable, both in amplitude and period. Its intense stellar winds have been measured on the order of 100 km/s.
