A brutal form of Örcish contact sports with little or no rules, Aldaainian Icehockey was invented on the newly colonized world of Aldaain. The apparent purpose of the game is the complete annihilation or incapacitation of the opposing team on a field of ice. The audience may freely participate.

History

Still covered by ice and snow with terraforming only slowly starting up, the ice world of Aldaain was not exactly a whole lot of fun to be around, calling for new forms of entertainment. The traditional Orcish blood-sports saw a revival when sports aficionados got the idea to combine them with ice skates and have the teams duke it out on Aldaain's vast ice fields. Thus the sport of Aldaain Ice Hockey was born.

Like most forms of Orcish sports, Aldaain ice hockey lacked almost all rules. Several pucks were involved in the game as well as goals, but these were mostly used for causing bodily harm to other players. Each player was also equipped with a wooden or plastic stick, but most players would forgo their use, settling on heavier weapons.

As time went by, the matches got progressively more brutal, with later games involving such heavy equipment as battle tanks and high-explosive grenades. These would only increase the sport's popularity, however.

Teams

Each of the various settlements on Aldaain eventually set up their own local team. These included:

The teams compete in the Aldaainian Icehockey League (AIL).
