A special kind of smoke grenade, an Anti-Laser Grenade is specifically designed to disable laser weapons. Upon detonation, the grenade releases a thick cloud of reflective chaff particles, engineered to both break the cohesion of a laser beam as well as absorb some of its energy, making it significantly less lethal.

Grenades of this type can also be used to fool ladar arrays and laser targeting systems.
