A region within the Orion Nebula, Barnard 30 is a star-forming cluster of stars.
Millions of years ago, a supernova sent shockwaves through the region, collapsing clouds of gas and dust, and beginning a new generation of star formation.
The region is shrouded in dark clouds of gas and dust that obscure visible light images.
