Ownership: UCP
System: 51 Pegasi
Type: Hot gas giant
Orbit period: 4.2293 days
Location: Alpha Quadrant

Also known as 51 Pegasi b, the gas giant Bellerophon is very close to its star and therefore extremely hot. The planet is tidally locked with one side permanently facing 51 Pegasi.

Atmosphere

The variations in temperatures make Bellerophon's atmosphere extremely windy.

The heat blast makes the atmosphere far too warm for hydrogen-oxygen water clouds. Instead, the clouds in the atmosphere are made of iron.

The sky overhead is filled with prominent auroral features resulting from the close proximity of the star.
