Biometal

Biometal is a mechano-biological material with the chemical properties of metal, but the growth patterns of an organic substance. It is used by the Bacterians in construction of various technologies.

Properties

While the molecular structure of Bacterian biometal is currently unknown, it possesses the extraordinary ability to regenerate almost all damage, eventually "growing" back together as if it were a liquid or flesh while closing bullet holes, mending gashes and tears, or even reattaching severed pieces. The material is also adaptive in some unknown fashion and can learn to repair itself given enough time from nearly any form of damage.

This substance defies harm by literally healing itself before the eyes of its attacker and is also occasionally referred to as "organic armor", although its applications range from civil engineering to the construction of artificial biomechanoid organisms in the Bacterian Empire.
