Chameleon I dark cloud

Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Chameleon I dark cloud is a molecular cloud in the larger Chameleon Dark Cloud Complex, and a site of low-mass star formation. It is located some 140 parsecs away from the Sol system and is characterized by abundant shock-excited molecular hydrogen knots.
