The Charnus Nebula (also known as N 159) is a star-forming nebula located in the Bacterian Home Galaxy that spans over 150 light-years. It holds bright newborn stars, dark filaments of dust, and red-glowing hydrogen gas. The Cesneckath Storm is the unusual central compact cloud.

In Bacterian culture

An old Bacterian poem says of the Charnus region:

Clouds of darkness invade the sky,
hiding the Olden Lord's wrath.
From the past as a mark,
in our fear
and destiny they are.
