Cyborg
A cyborg is a being - whether sentient or non-sentient - that is part biological, part mechanical, i.e. a cybernetic organism.
Once considered an aberration, today a large portion of the Galaxy's population are cybernetic in some fashion. The peoples of the Hemmoian Federation, in particular the Hemmoians, are extensively modified immediately after birth. Likewise, beings such as the 1110110110101111, the Gorgs and many others employ cybernetics to their fullest extent.
The Bacterians similarly are well versed in the merger of technology and bioforms, resulting in a peculiar bio-mechanical technology base where the difference between artificial machinery and natural organisms is further blurred. Thus much of their technology can be considered "cybernetic" although the connection is not generally made.
