Durth Close Call

The Durth Close Call was a short period of panic in the Durth system. In 3,xxx, the Durth Research Station discovered a stray asteroid on a collision course with Durth Prime, the first colony of the IHC.

The station attempted to change the asteroid's orbit by firing probes fitted with explosives at it, but to no avail. An emergency call was placed with the IHIPSF for assistance.

Soon, both IHIPSF Fleet One and IHIPSF Fleet Two arrived to pulverize the asteroid. After an intense bombardment, nothing remained of the space rock. Durth Prime was saved. With their doom averted, the jubilant citizens of Durth Prime took to the streets in celebration.

A scan of the remaining fragments also revealed that the asteroid consisted largely of valuable minerals. The space dust was salvaged by construction ships.

The event was a major public relations victory for the newly formed IHIPSF.
