Galmaro, an ocean world, was once the site of a prominent "squid processing plant". A large population of small squid-like sea creatures used to inhabit the vast oceans, and it didn't take long for food-processing executives to discover their full potential for the galactic food markets. Thus a processing plant was set up on the world - with the task of processing the squids for food and further transportation.

At the same time, however, many henchmen of the more industrialised worlds in the Free Zone also discovered Galmaro's potential - as an excellent site for a liquid landfill. Thus a morbid cycle begun on the planet: what the industrialists dumped on the ocean - the people on the processing plant harvested. The industrial waste also caused considerable mutations on the squids - which eventually grew very large in size. Some time after the squids had evolved twenty times their size, they apparently attacked the processing platform and ate all the workers there.
