Hephaestus Oarfish
The Hephaestus Oarfish are large, greatly elongated, pelagic Lampriform fish found on the Hephaestus system's planets. The fish themselves can grow from five foot to even nine feet in size. They have two fins, two large eyes and their skin is bright red in color.
The fish reproduce by laying eggs that produce several dozen offspring: it is known however, that most of the Hephaestus Oarfish choose to lead solitary lives instead of actively seeking partners to copulate with and thus actively reproduce.
The Hephaestus Oarfish are extremely hard to catch due to their highly refined sense of survival in the deep seas and lakes of the Hephaestus system: it is known that some sentient species consider this particular fish a delicacy, thus making it a highly sought after number on the menú in the various restaurants around the galaxy, especially the Hephaestan specialty Oarfish stew.
