Hibernation storage

Cold-storage hibernation chambers, alternatively known as stasis pods, are designed to preserve the crew of the vessel for very long journeys. Vessels utilizing cryogenic hibernation (or "hypersleep") chambers are called "sleeper ships".

A typical hibernation storage module is a self-contained, selfpowered, computer-regulated “sleeper-coffin.” A unit of cold-coffins can usually operate for 25 years after the ship's power is shut down. The beds provide nutrients (at a reduced rate) directly into the sleeper's system.
