Iota Boötis system

The Iota Bootis system, also known as Asellus Secundus, أولاد الضّباع, 天槍二 and 21 Boötis, is a binary/trinary star system.

The system is located at a distance of 94.8 light years (29.1 parsecs) from the UCP command system, Sol.

Overview

The primary component, Iota Boötis, is a white A-type main sequence dwarf classified as a DSCTC-type variable star with a low amplitude.

The companion, HD 234121, is a main sequence star belonging to spectral class K0. It is separated from ι Boo by 1,100 AU.

There is a possible third star in this system.
