J093010 system

A quadruple star system, the J093010 system consists of a binary and a contact binary. Contact binaries consist of stars which, as the name suggests, have their envelopes in contact with one other. The standard binary was initially observed but peculiarities in the lightcurve showing additional deep eclipses on individual nights led to further analysis and the discovery of the contact binary. It is thought that the binary systems are gravitationally bound.
