A gas giant consisting nearly exclusively of hydrogen and helium, the M4 Planet is located in the outer layers of the Cat's Eye Cluster. Currently, it orbits a binary pair of a white dwarf and the neutron star/pulsar PSR B1620-26 at a distance of 21.5 AU.

The primeval world is one of the oldest planets known, estimated to be around 12.7 billion years. It is nearly as old as the universe itself, and formed when the universe was just a billion years old. The planet's long, turbulent life began around a yellow main sequence star in the same globular cluster, which later went through a red giant phase and became the white dwarf. This star in turn got captured by PSR B1620-26.
