The elliptical path of an object that is gravitationally bound to another object.

Orbit types

  • Low Orbit (200 to 1200 km above planetary surface)
  • Medium Orbit (1200 to approx. thirty thousand km km)
  • Geosynchronous Orbit (approx. thirty thousand km above planetary surface)
  • Geostationary Orbit (zero inclination geosynchronous orbit)
  • High Orbit (above thirty thousand km)
