Peace Station Encyclopedia talk:Turkish Star Wars... 2!
You'll probably remember the terrible Turkish "adaptations" of Star Trek and Star Wars posted on the PS board some time ago where they basically ripped the special effects from the originals and just inserted their own cast in between. Well ... they're at it again, this time with an improved budget complete with Star Wreck-esque computer green screen animation. Apparently set in the year 2055, the sequel details the adventures of Turkish starship ULUBATLI 33, powered by the günes matriksine paralel endomanyetik iticiler ve helyum pille çalişiyor. (Interestingly it appears Turkey has not been accepted as part of the European Union in the future because the website mentions NASA, not the ESA.)

- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbYczbBlatA for reference, the excellent final battle from the previous installment.
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3wgcvItHEw and finally the trailer for the sequel. I like especially how the guy from the previous flick, now apparently an old man, still uses his weird fighting style of "standing still and waving his arms in the general direction of the enemy, causing their heads to explode".
Quite possibly the best science fiction movie of 2006 (although Children of Men is a close second.)

Absolute crazyness
I really like how this Turkish Luke Skywalker beats the shit out of those tall red furry things - which quite possible are the parents of Elmo from Sesame Street. Also, by watching this flick without any subtitles, and at the same time with that horribly mumbled Turkish audio, it makes the experience rather dream-like. Maybe even an opium dream-like.
This is absolute greatness - all hail the Turkish Scifi-movie industry !
