Proton boundary layer

Jump to navigationJump to searchA magnetic phenomenon in the outer edges of a solar system, a proton boundary layer (PBL) is a type of current sheet in a stellar magnetic field. PBLs are defined by a rapid jump in magnetic field strength, with one observed event resulting in a doubling of the field strength in just half an hour.
