Rothyr Company

A band of criminal elements who left the United Orcs some time after the formation of the Independent Hypersentience Collective to seek an outlaw's life in the far reaches of space. In a display of surprising ingenuity, these brigands heavily modified and weaponized a large number of civilian starships.

The civilian shipping lanes of both the UO and the IHC were raided by this improvised starfleet. Its base of operations was eventually deemed to be the Rothyr system, currently outside the borders of both the UO and the IHC.

Political ramifications

The formation of this band of pirates was a source of embarrassment to the UO, as it seemed to imply they were unable to control their own territories. Some UO politicians laid the blame on the IHC, which had seceded from the Union earlier.

The Tallasus Incident

When the Rothyr Company, led by a Hemmoian by the name of Qaarugm from aboard the raider ship Outrageous Fortune, attacked the IHC Tallasus Research Station in 3,xxx, the IHIPSF faced its first formidable challenge.

A fleet of four Blueshift class patrol corvettes, known as IHIPSF Fleet One, was dispatched to fend off the attackers, and proved victorious.

The Pacification of Rothyr

After the Tallasus Incident, a second IHIPSF Fleet was formed. Both fleets were sent to Rothyr, where in orbit of the gas giant Rothyr II they engaged the asteroid outpost of the Rothyr Company. After a short but intense battle, the reign of the Company was over.
