The Schism of Fire is a gigantic system of canyons on Bacterius, with active volcanic magma flows at its bottom. This striking formation runs along the planet's surface close to the equator, a hundred kilometers wide and up to 21 kilometers deep. It is the lowest point on the planet not underwater.

At more than 6 000 kilometers in length, the Schism stretches for nearly a quarter of the planet's circumference. It is visible from orbit like a burning wound dividing the planet in two.
