Slider Grenade Launcher

The "Slider" Grenade Launcher was created during the H'vos War to assist ground forces with a cheap, reliable and simple weapon with a minimal need for battlefield maintenance.

The mechanism of the weapon was essentially just a coiled spring with a catapult-mechanism which could launch disc-shaped grenades of various types against the enemy. This design was very easy to repair and maintain, since it had very little in terms of small parts or electrical wiring. The operator of the weapon would just need to pull back the "coiled spring"-mechanism, attach the disc grenade into the firing tube and then pull the trigger. The disc-shaped grenades had been originally designed for the much more advanced GILAS launcher, but the GILAS launchers with their tracking radars and other high-tech additions often did not work properly and had to be discarded.
