Snake Nebula

Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Snake Nebula (also known as Barnard 72) is a dark nebula. It is a small (few light years in radius) but readily apparent S-shaped dust lane in the north-north-west edge of the bowl of the Pipe Nebula. It is part of the much larger Dark Horse Nebula.
Near the Snake Nebula is found Barnard 68, as well as Barnard 69, Barnard 70, and Barnard 74.
