Talk:People's Revolutionary Polity of M'sta Cy'Ka

I've been going through this article, and there were a few things I wanted to ask you about:

- It says that the PMS are in a state of Cold War against the UFP and the GA. Why ?

- Secondly, the three major import partners of the PMS are the UO, HFED and.. The GA ? How can this be ? Even if they've supposedly got a Cold War going on ?

I do get the North-Korea connection here, but I doubt that the GA has anything against the PRPMS - they've got bigger fish to fry, I'm afraid.

I think it's a one sided relationship ...

The PRPMS government needs some sort of Orwellian bogie to scare their citizens with ("the capitalist menace"), and the Gigerdi Alliance happens to be conveniently located right next to them in the Alpha Quadrant. The ruling nomenklatura might still uphold trade relations though, all the while hatin' on the GA behind their backs. I doubt they'd actually _do_ anything to the GA, ever, although they are apparently attempting to develop planet killers in the Sikojenlahti system, which was the source of a minor diplomatic crisis back in the Peace Station days.

The relations with the UFP are very bad for real though - the human practice of eating pigs, although replaced by syntho-meat and replicated goods in the modern ages, is seen by the PRPMS as an affront to all that they represent - the proud Sika heritage. Remember, the PRPMS has a history of actually boarding and taking over human starships. Their vast distance from the UFP is the only thing that keeps it from heating up to an all around war.

OK, but still..

So, what was this Sikojenlahti-crisis about ? To whom were the PRPMS aiming their supposed planet killers at during the Peace Station-era?

And on a sidenote, I think it would've been a rather cool conflict - to pit the PRPMS against the UFP. For once, like, it wouldn't have directly involved any of the major starpowers.

planet killers

Probably no-one in particular, it was more of a simple case of "gotta have us some of dat" from the PRPMS government. In any case, simply the act of developing new planet killers during the Peace Station Era of supposed galactic co-operation in the vicinity of the Alpha Quadrant border was seen as a negative development by the Gigerdi Alliance, who brought the matter up at the Peace Station Council. It was also a diplomatic embarassment for the Hemmoian Federation, because of their alliance with the PRPMS. (This is all just a subplot for some PS filler episode.)

This dude is addressing the Peace Station Council on the matter - in the original picture he had a speech bubble that said "These are all imperialist lies of the Gigerdi Alliance." the screen he's holding reads "PLANET KILLER REGULATIONS."

Maybe next Christmas I'll do a Peace Station Christmas Special showing the PRPMS duking it out with some UFP starship, I actually had the idea last christmas but something else came up as it always does.
