UOAF Support Gunboat

Used during the V3 War, the Support Gunboats were larger and far more powerful than standard starfighters but small enough to be carried aboard capital ships. The vessels are only twenty five meters in diameter, yet have an incredible weapon array, including a torpedo launcher, two x-ray laser cannons, a concussion grenade/air mine launcher and a rapid-fire photrazon cannon. The hull plating is so heavy that most starfighter guns had a tough time penetrating the armor, making the vessel impervious to all but the most powerful fighter weapons.

The Gunboat normally carried a crew of four: the pilot, the co-pilot and sensor officer, and two gunnery officers. In an emergency, the vessel could be flown by a single person. The Gunboats were used for system patrol duty, point defense, or fire support for capital ships or ground forces. They were often deployed in pairs so that the ships could cover each other.
