The Star Cruiser Rinorend was the first Orcish ship to successfully bridge the gap of interstellar space and arrive in another star system through the Portal Dimension, using the Gateway Device.

Subsequently it became the first ship in the early UO fleet, actually smaller than the civilian OLY-12 Hyperspace Cruiser.

Originally meant as a one shot deal, the design of this particular starship proved very robust, prompting Orcish engineers to build many starships of this type. The Rinorend II was finished a few years later, starting a long line of starships with the name Rinorend.
