Battle of Ferrel

The Battle of Ferrel is the initial, small-scale conflict fought beween the forces of the Gigerdi Confederation and the Gigerdi Federation just hours after the creation of the Confederation. The battle is remembered as the only engagement in the Secession War altogether.

The Beginning

As the unexpected Secession War had suddenly flared up, the Gigerdi Confederation was in dire need of allies and safe worlds to regroup its forces in. As Kyle Gigerdi along with his supporters had fled Gigerdi Prime with the stolen population transport, the GCS Hope, they had a clear destination. Admiral Glen Runciter, the former commander of the GF's third fleet and now a member of the G-Confed, had layed out plans to defend the small Ferrell system from attack. The local government there had decided to side with the G-Confed, but the Gigerdi Federation decided to move in a small force of ships to stop its secession.
