Order of the Eternal Eclipse

A secret society within the Court of Bacterium, the Order of the Eternal Eclipse was formed to usurp power in the Bacterian Empire while Emperor Gracilibacillus XI involved himself with extragalactic campaigns of conquest. The hidden chairman of the society was Fyrmiax Agarivorans III, a Bacterian aristocrat of the Agarivorans noble house and Keeper of the Empire's Shield.

The Order had the backing of many high level military commanders, including Starship Captains Verithia Gor-Malsenoak, Ogiodi Zibra and Lamias Gar-Vetala, Minor Fleetlord Adramal Lugnashad XX, Fleetlord and Imperial Warlord Gibbath Neqael Yor-Begolor of Metallion and Mr. Gorongs of Imperial Bacterian Naval Intelligence.

Background

Although its origins are shrouded in mystery, the Order is said to have originated during the rule of Emperor Ergathon Xuii VI, the last of House Xuii to rule before Emperor Diabolicus I seized power.

A new heir

When Emperor Gracilibacillus perished during the Grim Expurgation in the Bacterian Home Galaxy, the Order saw it was its time to act. When the young half-breed Pavonidas Bacterionema was discovered to be of an Imperial bloodline, the Order immediately began pulling strings to make certain his ascension to the throne. A young, inexperienced Emperor in command of the Empire's assets in the Milky Way Galaxy would facilitate the transfer of power to powerful domain lords and noble houses, first and foremost those of House Agarivorans, assisted by the powerful Provincial Fleets of Zazula.
