Siege of Aldaain
The Siege of Aldaain refers to the invasion of the world by the Bacterian Empire in the First Bacterian War.
Initial attacks
In 3,0022, the Bacterian "ambassadorial fleet" on Aldaain, led by the gigantic Hammer Revelation mothership, without any warning, powered up their weapons and started firing upon key United Orcs command facilities as well as major population centers around the globe. Pooyan City was utterly annihilated.
Most government officials died in the initial attacks. Almost immediately after the first strikes, hideous genetically engineered killing machines were released from the ships to wreak havoc among the civilian population.
The leader of the attack was Warlord Yor-Begolor of Metallion, directly leading Heavy Mechanized Infantry Divisions Cothyr and Tyrantia.
Bioweapons
The UO military attempted to fight this alien force but the ground forces were soon destroyed by the creatures, or worse: The things seemed to have an ability to genetically assimilate living creatures. In other words, they could turn people into more killing machines. The United Orcs Starfleet was powerless to stop the mass slaughter going on on the surface.
By the first day of the war, an estimated 3,000,000 people in the northern continent of Kud were either infected or killed. Word of the mass slaughter and mindless attacks spread fast throughout the UO colonies. Evacuation orders were sent to all colonial authorities to head for inter-stellar space, away from the Bacterian menace.
UO response
The event of Bacterians attacking Aldaain was code named an Anvilstrike situation in military jargon. In the case of such an event, the UO had formulated a responsoe strategy called Response Plan Blue Zero. It includes an evacuation of the government to a hidden location on the outskirts of colonized space, as well as the full mobilization of UOSF space assets against the Bacterian fleet. UOSF Task Force Orbeus was immediately commanded to attack the Bacterian vessels.
Aftermath
Final casualty estimations range from 9,000,000,000 to 12,000,000,000 dead citizens of Aldaain.
Environmental impact
After the Siege, the global ocean of Aldaain was deemed to be so polluted and laced with toxins any attempt to clean it up would be unfeasible. The decision was made to remove the ocean altogether, almost tripling the world's surface area.
