Background
Emissaries were a servant race of the Dominion, possibly
created by their scientists with an elaborate program of
genetic engineering. When the Dominion was destroyed by
the combined forces of the Gigerdians and the Hemmoians,
the Emissaries fled into uncharted Rim territories to
regroup, harboring a bitter hatred towards the destroyers
of their leaders.
During their exile, the Emissaries allied themselves with
the Orlians - but only after the Orlian leader had been
replaced by a Dominion Founder, a changeling who could
take the form of anyone he desired. With an effective
puppet government in place, the support of the entire
Orlian Empire was behind them, and they soon started to
gain real military strength again.
With an operational starfleet consisting of ships from
the old Dominion starfleet, vessels of their own design,
and some Orlian warships, the Emissaries felt comfortable
enough to launch a campaign of terror against their old
enemies after years of silence. They also secretly allied
enlisted the help of the Daglians, who also hated the Hemmoian
Federation for what they did to them during the
Hemmoian Civil War.
Terrorist strikes & the Emissary Campaign
Using the Orlians as proxies for their schemes, the
Emissaries contacted the DHR through one Vornel 73 Holnit and asked them to provide
safe passage to Aldaain, the command world of the Hemmoian
Federation, knowing that the hackers of DHR could easily
disable the Federation's security systems. When the
security systems went down, a huge Emissary fleet assisted
by Daglian vessels jumped into Aldaain's orbit and
commenced a powerful orbital bombing. Even while the local
security fleets assisted by one of the four gigantic
Hemmoian Motherships eventually managed to disable or
destroy the attacking fleet, the surface layers of Aldaain
were reduced to smoldering rubble. A similar attack was
simultaneously performed on Gigerdi Prime, where an entire
continent was destroyed and a deadly virus was released
into the atmosphere.
With billions of beings dead and untold amounts of material damage dealt to the infrastructure of the two command worlds, a retalitory strike was imminent. In the Hemmoian year 3,179, the Inter-Stellar Alliance launched a vast campaign in the Outer Rim dedicated to finding and neutralizing the Emissary base of operations. This operation was a success, resulting in the destruction of the leaders of the Emissary and the liberation of the Orlian Empire's people under the rule of the Emissary puppet government.
