Keeps a low profile to gather information or liquidate unwanted elements through technological means and concealment. Agents are typically employed by the intelligence or special law enforcement agency of some government, or the industrial espionage department of a major corporation.

Some organizations, such as the ruthless Section 18, have even been known to specifically grow genetically engineered clones to act as their agents and assassins.

In popular culture

The secret agent has remained a popular character in fiction for centuries in many cultures. Examples of these "agent stories" include the popular Gigerdian holovision series Agent 818 - Danger ! and some less popular novels, such as Last Night An Agent Saved My Life (From A Broken Heart).
