The Crossbow pistol, despite its considerable age, is still a favorable weapon in some parts of the galaxy. The very sharp - and sometimes poison-tipped arrows of the pistol can deal moderate damage against unarmored opponents at even extended ranges. The modern versions of the weapon are also easily concealable, and can be used inside starships without having to worry about inconvenient hull breeches caused by regular weapons.

The legendary mercenary, Den Kylek, was known to use a Crossbow Pistol as a part of his arsenal.
