Den Kylek
Den Kylek is a former Human mercenary of some sort, whom Kyle Gigerdi and Mad Gigerdi met during their early travels around the Galaxy. At the time when the three of them met, Mr. Kylek had already abandoned his former mercenary ways and had been leading the life of merchant travel for some time.

Origins
Den Kylek originated from a predominantly human colony in UCP space.
The inhabitants of the small colony had at one time or the other discovered strange artifacts on the soil of the colony and over time had learned how to harness and utilize the power of the artifacts. Several of the found artifacts were implants of some sort, which greatly enhanced the physical and mental abilities of the person who wore it. Den Kylek had been implanted at an early age with the implants, and had over time learned how to use them with the guidance of the other wearers of the same implants residing on the colony.
The implants and their origins were a secret inside the colony. The group that had originally found the implants did not want to share their existence with UCP or anyone else for that matter, and thus Den Kylek had to train himself in secret on the proper use if his abilities and above all, the implants themselves. Den Kylek's mother is said to have been one of the first wearers of the implants and over time she had gathered few selected people around her to learn the secrets of the alien implants and their powers. This secret way of learning eventually evolved into a pseudo-religion of sorts inside the colony, where the people wearing the implants were considered mythic beings possessing great but almost completely unknown powers.
Den Kylek left his home after some basic schooling, but despite having plans regarding further studies he felt more interest towards space travel and did many oddjobs for various more or less reputable characters in the galactic spheres of influence while travelling around the galaxy. Over time Den Kylek started to gain fame as a legendary mercenary capable of any task or mission and it was widely known in the less reputable circles that he was a formidable opponent possessing mystical powers both enabling him with telekinesis and combat techniques.
Adventures inside the Beta Quadrant Free Zone
Den Kylek had roamed the dangerous Beta Quadrant Free Zone for several years before he came across a pair of young and undoubtedbly unfamiliar faces in the zone, two Gigerdians by the name of Mad Gigerdi and Kyle Gigerdi. The two Gigerdians were saved by Den Kylek during their first meeting aboard the Dremole Station, and after Den heard that there was a position available as a navigator aboard a cargo vessel the two Gigerdians owned, he signed on with enthusiasm.
Travelling aboard The Hawk of The Galaxy the three got themselved involved in many dangerous and wild adventures. The two Gigerdians were often saved by Den Kylek's sheer amount of experience and killer insticts, which were essential in survival after the three managed to uncover a small Bacterian expeditionary fleet roaming the zone with dubious intentions.
Missing in action
Among many adventures that the trio undertook in the zone, they were always pursued by the Bacterian fleet along with its' commander, the female Bacterian Alsophilia Bacillus.
After Den Kylek had managed to lure the Bacterian commander inside the dead city on the planet Apsar Xsara in the zone and initiate combat against her, she managed to push Den Kylek onto a narrow bridge and as the fighting intensified even more the bridge eventually collapsed. The resulting chaos saw the death of the Bacterian commander when Den Kylek had decided to dash onto her and drop her from a narrow ledge, but in turn it seemed for certain that Den Kylek fell onto his own death while saving his Gigerdian travelling companions during the battle.
Den Kylek was presumed dead, and so it seemed for a long time.
Ressurection and return
Den Kylek remained in hiding for almost a decade. He had survived the fall, which had killed the Bacterian but it took him a long time to get out of the ruined city and find a way to get back into the realms of galactic civilization.
Den Kylek largely remained in the free zone, since before his alleged death several dozens of different organizations now along with the Bacterians wished to get their hands on him. His presumed death helped Den Kylek to gather his strength, and thus Den Kylek remained in the zone while quietly rumours of his death were uncovered to be untrue. The groups and often criminal organisations that had dealings or bad blood with Den Kylek dispatched mercenaries of their own to find out if Den Kylek indeed was alive, and thus these searches often led them to cross the borders between the zone and into the more civilized quadrants. Unknown to Mad and Kyle Gigerdi, even they were once targeted by a powerful mercenary aboard the Peace Station during its' first year of operations and the group directing the hunt wanted the two Gigerdians to betray their friend, but luckily the two did not even know he was alive.
While Den Kylek had been away from his original home colony on UCP space for a long time, he learned that the elusive Folan empire had now claimed several planets and systems including his homeworld to be handed over from the UCP side to the Folans. This greatly troubled Den Kylek, since his home colony was the site of the implant artifacts and eventually it would be just a matter of time when the Folans would find out about the implants and utilize them themselves. Eventually the whole operation was luckily deemed as a hoax from the Vemrer side, but Den Kylek drew plans to hide the artifacts and even destroy the implants in order to stop them from falling into wrong hands.
Den Kylek waited until the beginning of the Timocracy war to appear out of the zone and move into the civilized quadrants again. He had been following the events at the other quadrants closely, but due to personal reasons and the ever-present dangers against him he had not dared to contact his Gigerdian friends yet.
Jack Unknown, who later on claimed to be Kylek's son. This rather substantial claim has never been verified - in fact many believe it to be a sheer hoax.
