Cybernetics is the interdisciplinary study of various sciences such as control systems, mechanical engineering, evolutionary biology and neuroscience. The term is generally interpreted as the science that involves itself with the creation of cyborgs through the use of various means of technical augmentation (mechanical, electronic, and bionic implants), biological augmentation, and neuroprostheses.

In a wider context, cybernetics can also refer to a broader category of sciences that encompass any interaction between machine systems and biological life.
